Greetings all! As I write this is, it is far past Chinese New Year, but I wanted to capture a few of the memories before its is next year already! This year, we weren't sure if we could travel with Rod's health situation, so we planned a dinner with all of the people who have supported and befriended us. It's the first time we have done this and it seems everyone liked it. After that, we just went to Seoul, S Korea and enjoyed a couple of days away.
Of course we were also invited to our Chinese friends the Zou's for Chinese New Year hot pot.
We came back from Seoul, we also celebrated Rod's birthday. We don't eat the sweets or cake, but they also fix us a nice cake and fruit basket.
During our time here, we have met some beautiful Christian people, and one of them is also an artist. Below is one of the works we purchased for him. It is amazing!
In the last months of winter, I love going to the fruit and flower markets for a burst of color...and also a great taste of the fruits!
Living here now for 6+ years, we know he cycle of the fresh fruits...Citrus fruits from the south of China comes in Dec, January and February then in March and April Strawberries, and in May we get cherries and nectarines, June and July comes the peaches and watermelon by August and September I can't remember as I type the but in October/November we get the persimmons and a whole big selection of fresh nuts snd apples.
They all taste so good! Are they GMO? I don't know, probably. Are they covered with pesticides? Probably. Do they taste great? Absolutely...so we're taking our chances!
So for now, another Chinese New Year, and soon Dragon boat day will be behind us. May we all have a great year of the Monkey!
