This the 4th of 4 posts on our trip to Thailand and Myanmar
The country of Myanmar is simple and beautiful, rich with history and traditions. In Myanmar, there are 168 ethnic groups that co-incide..most of the time peacefully. Along the river there are mostly Burman people (the name that caused the British to rename the country Burma). In this post, I cannot begin to tell you the faces or traditional dress are from which ethnic group, or if they are all Burman...I just know that for me they were striking for me, so I took several pictures. Most faces are real people, although I did sneak in some Bhudda and other artsy faces along the way here and there!
I should probably do this same exercise for China some day...another day, another burst of energy and inspiration!
So here are the the faces of Myanmar as captured by us during our visit:
The still life photos can, for the most part, tell the story of the beautiful people of Myanmar, but there is at least one place along the river that a video is needed to tell the story of the strength...it will speak for itself! Strong women is all I can say!
So that concludes our journey through Northern Thailand and Myanmar. If you ever get the chance, or are looking for an adventure trip, please consider this out of the way, almost forgotten land called Myanmar.
All our best for 2016!
